Alexander Miller, M.D., graduated from the University of California Irvine (UCI) Medical School in December of 1978, having fulfilled his medical school curriculum half a year ahead of schedule. He completed his dermatology residency at UCI in 1983, at which time he opened his private practice in Yorba Linda. During his years of practicing dermatology he has, in addition to caring for his patients, enjoyed teaching dermatology residents and medical students at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Long Beach, UC Irvine Medical Center, and in his office. He holds the rank of Clinical Professor of Dermatology at UC Irvine.
Dr. Miller is also active on committees and boards of several major dermatology societies, including the state society, CalDerm; the national association, American Academy of Dermatology (AAD); and the American Society for Mohs Surgery (ASMS). He has served as President of both CalDerm and ASMS and planned annual educational conferences for both CalDerm and ASMS. Dr. Miller lectures at both national and state dermatology meetings and conferences. He has earned a variety of awards from these and other professional societies and has been listed in “Best Doctors in America” every year since the inception of the listing.
Most importantly, Dr. Miller strives to provide compassionate quality care to patients of all ages. Combining his interest in teaching with the practice of dermatology and dermatologic surgery has been gratifying to Dr. Miller. He genuinely enjoys interacting with patients and maintaining their needs and concerns at the forefront of his practice.
Outside of his dermatology practice and related activities, Dr. Miller engages in many hobbies, including gardening, cycling, hiking, playing classical piano, photography, and spending time with his family. The photographs in his office were all taken by Dr. Miller.
